Licensed therapist for women & Couples in maryland❋
Maxine Marshall
MSW, LCSW-C, RYT
Areas of expertiseI am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW-C) in Maryland with professional experience supporting women, mothers, & couples. There are so many “have-to-dos” in life, we often feel as if there’s no room to live as if it’s our life.
Working with me provides clarity in what has not been working, what changes you want to see made, and what action steps to take to get you there.
I work well with clients who are self-aware and insight oriented who are looking to transition into intentional decision-making and action.
❋ Professional, Career, Workplace StressWork is a big part of our day. When we feel in misalignment with our values, time, and energy in regard to career - it can be frustrating and stressful. When we experience something traumatic at work, it can change our outlook entirely. We process this together and create a plan of action.
❋ ADHD / NeurodiversityHow our brain works is a core part of our personality and our capacity to show up in our life. ADHD does have an impact on our quality of life. Knowing your truest, most authentic self, living as her, and valuing that person is a journey all women deserve.
❋ Mothering & Identity The transition into motherhood and the identity shifts that continue as we grow can be overwhelming. Motherhood is a relationship we are meant to enjoy. Learning the systems, self-regulation strategies, and boundaries you need to access more joy in motherhood are great places to start. We also discuss self-regulation and family of origin work.
❋ Executive / Leader Life BalanceLeadership is another relationship or role that can come with a lot of challenges. Whether you’re an executive, manager, or entrepreneur leading your entire business, finding purpose and managing the stress are both important. Setting the intention to enjoy life outside of work deserves to be part of the conversation.
❋ Mixed neurotype couplesI support mixed neurotype couples in building deeper understanding, communication, and connection by helping partners navigate differences in processing, emotional needs, and daily functioning with personalized and meaningful tools.
❋ Postpartum & parenting couplesI work with postpartum and parenting couples to strengthen their relationship through the transitions of parenthood, supporting emotional regulation, communication, identity shifts, and shared partnership in the midst of change.
Work with Me
I specialize in helping couples and neurodivergent women gain clarity, strengthen self-regulation, and create practical action plans to reduce overwhelm and burnout. My goal is to help you build more connection, ease, and satisfaction in daily life.
Together, we’ll look at the systems and cycles contributing to overload, explore your values and priorities, and deepen your relationship with yourself and the people who matter most. My approach is mind-body and somatic, supporting you through life transitions such as career stress, pregnancy, postpartum, and parenting.
Work with me in 6–8 couples sessions to create space for each partner to feel heard, understood, and valued - laying the foundation for a clearer, more connected relationship.
Or, work with me in 8–12 individual sessions to develop emotional regulation and confidence, improve self-talk, and find sustainable executive functioning strategies tailored for neurodivergent and anxious working moms.
Reconnect with your body and mind as you recenter yourself - you are the priority.Therapy with Maxine-
We typically recommend 8-12 sessions of individual therapy or 6-8 sessions of couples therapy to start.
Mom Works Counseling Group is a solution-oriented therapy practice, meaning we prioritize skills building and action planning in the self-reflection process. This number of sessions allows for a productive engagement in the therapeutic process while encouraging your growth.
